Saturday Snapshots 1.19.13
I would first like to thank On My Own Nerves reader, Lynn, for the name suggestion for my Saturday picture posts. Saturday Snapshots it is!
Yesterday I went hiking with Greg. It was freezing but I was determined to take some pictures. I put on lots of warm clothes and fingerless gloves and off we went. Lily dog was very happy to join us. This is her kind of weather. Cold.
We drove up to the Conowingo Dam and parked. As soon as we got out of the car, we spotted some folks with mega cameras. You know, the ones with huge honkin' lens that look like they could see to the moon? They were shooting pictures of the tons of birds flying around the dam. Most appeared to be seagulls, but I'm sure there were other kinds too. We took off walking to the path that runs through the state park. I took 116 pictures on our walk. Some turned out. Some didn't. But I'm most excited about what we spotted on our walk. Check it out.

Marshy Area

It's been so warm there's GREEN to be found.

So excited to spot a pretty little woodpecker.

Even more excited to see this guy!!

He flew away at one point.

And landed over here.

And started sharpening his beak.

Heading back.

Pretty cool view of the dam.

Love when some of the gates are open. So much water. The birds hang out here and catch fish.
Hope you enjoyed this week's pictures and are inspired to get out and take your own. Have an amazing weekend and GO RAVENS!!!!
